Forks.com

Hello again!

Onto the fork question now. I thought you had you use the stock non adjustable forks for DD. Seems you dont if I've read the rules right and you can use adjustable ones. If thats right what a good upgrade with minimal fuss of yet more fabrications!! ST 4, 900ss??

Simon, i've just been playing with forks today
The Monster 620 I bought came with non adjustable 750SSie forks (same as 620 Sport) these were removed this afternoon and replaced by a pair of ST4 forks straight swap basically apart from them being shorter, Same calipers, same spindle, same clip-ons, same mudguard etc. They will need to come out again for me to change the springs, oil and adjust the airgap.

And for good measure the forks I removed which were in a really good condition I swapped into my 750SSie removing the old forks that are showing there age and need the dust seals replacing, once thats done they will be added to my large pile of Class B bits as I almost have everything to build a complete Class B bike now

email subject: You've been outbid on eBay item: Ducati ST4 2001 fork legs (120808076289)

Unless things have changed, you are only allowed adjustable forks in Class A, not Class B.... Skids will confirm to avoid confusion.

Quite right Ron, Simons on a Class A bike and has obviously just picked up on the Class A rules regarding forks

Spjallen 19-Nov-2011 11:46

Yes that right. I was going down the route of sending them to maxton at a cost of around £400, but still leaving without any easy adjustment options, which seems a bit rubbish - hence a good trawl through the rules. How much should I be looking to pay for a good pair of adjustable forks?

bradders 19-Nov-2011 11:52

thats the ridiculous thing SP - you can pick a set of 916 forks and yokes up cheaper than ST2!! More fit for purpose but you cant use them....

How do we ask for a rule change? You could make it only that range, ie Showa fitted to Ducati SBK range and even stipulate no radial brakes if needed (and that was a concern) or name the range of bikes they must come from

Season hasnt started yet...

any other brands fit - everyone knows Aprilia and Ducati are often inter changable, is there an Aprillia bike like ST2/4/monster?
