Oh no, time to play with white mans magic, electrickey! Just taking things off that aren't needed such as the left hand handle bar switches, headlights, indicators ect. Now I've got a lot of wiring that isn't really required and would like to get rid of it, the bike will not be returning to the road either so no worries there.

The question is, can I just snip away the excess wiring or will this lead to problems? I can't really afford or justify getting a race loom made option either. :o

Did the same with my 800 last year .. And electrics scare me too

My advice .. be very careful

Be very patient with it .. disconect it and constantly check everything you want to work still works before cutting anything.

DO NOT CHOP BUNDLES OF WIRES .. YOU WILL STUFF UP

From memory.. all the obvious stuff lights and indicators where pretty straight forward, all the stuff in the tail was redundant .. but be extra careful with the cockpit electrics

And I seem to remember having to make a permanant connection between the wires for the sidestand cut out switch

Good advice

Play safe and don't chop anything that can be traced back to the ECU, and be very careful with wires going to the Clocks, a few are safe to chop, such as indicators and High Beam indication
My bike has 3 fuses feeding the circuits where I have done away with the main fusebox. So I now have a Main Fuse, a Injection Fuse and a ECU fuse.
The Charging fuse also remains unaltered

Well it's all done now. Chopped just a few. Main beam, indicators and such. Looks so much neater now. Case closed!!

Should see what I chopped out of Dallas's and then followed that up by chopping quite a few out of Senna3, As well as getting rid of all the lighting, Indicators, brake and horn wires, we Dumped the ignition switch wiring and the Ignition Relay, Kept the Injection Relay and fitted a Rocker Switch for ON/OFF

Getting rid of the key / ignition would be brilliant.

Although the Ignition Switch connects to a 6-way block it only uses two of the wires for running the bike the other two wires are so you can have parking lights in the locked position.
Unless you pay out to have your ECU doctored you still need the Ariel that is housed in the ignition surround along with the transponder from inside the key (easy to remove) I turned up a holder out of Delrin and that holds the transponder in the middle of it and the ariel around the outside. and all is tucked away under the tank
