seems very low for an sps

looking like Mike should be ok with his 853R then

848 one are interesting, except 1 has torq in 80's V 60's on other graph...EVO v non EvO maybe Certainly shows the full Termi system not needed unless its weight loss with titanium of course ;)

but the 1098 - jesus!! Go get the full system!!

Hmmm, jusat stripped down a set of bip 916 throttle bodies. Anyone know where to get 54mm butterfly's from?

Have you tried Chris at CJS it's one of the conversion he does

I thought the same about the SPS
I was out on my 996BP earlier which feels like its around 115 ish, with its 54mm system and matching JHP Chip, my old 916 measured 104.5 rwbhp with 45mm Termis and Senna Chip. That compares to Superbike mag in 1994 quoting 114bhp for a bog stock one, yet my 916 felt like a real good one so maybe SB mag were quoting Crank figures.

In September 2002 the same mag did a article on the Sigma 853, which had started as a 748RS fitted with the Big bore kit, keeping the RSs 54mm system, using 748R cam and ported and flowed Heads then chipped to suit.

In this state it made 118bhp just 5 bhp down on a standard 748RS but without the £3000 bill every 400 miles from reving the very wild cams at 11500 rpm

mines putting out 117 with totally mismatched inlet manifolds, The standard 748sp ones I have to use for the throttle bodies create 4-5mm steps where they meet the R heads. I really need to get them cleaned up. Thanks for the tip on the butterfly's Kev. Boring the bodis out easy enough, just making the brass butterflys a little difficult. Hopefully Chris will have an answer.:)

Mike I'm suprised your not going with bored out 748R throttle bodies with Shower injectors, I know as standard thet restrict down to about 44/45mm but the butterflies are 54mm.
The Pico injectors you can use with them can flow a lot more fuel than the older injectors which results in pulse length times that can be shorter than the time taken for one revolution of the engine, which to me would be the way to go

On Chris's website it refers to "throttle bodies machined to remove the restriction"

I did look at using shower head system, but the expense of buying one, plus airbox was not in my range. The R motor I have came without the shower head system. So I made the decision to go along 955 route, big bore throttle bodies matched to the heads. I was going to go for some different cams too, but decided to stick to R spec ones. The only expense in the throttle bodies will be the butterfly's. I can bore out myself.

Mike my 955 requires a 5 bar fuel system to supply the older injectors with enough fuel for the engine to make Max Power at High Revs, one of the reasons I'm looking into using the 748RS throttle bodies on my 955, which is why I knew Chris had bored some out with effective results

916 Throttle bodies come with a single 270cc/min injector, the 996s come with two of these per cylinder and a 748R comes with a single Pico injector rated at 490cc/min

So make sure your fuel supply doesn't weaken off at the top end, Otherwise you would have to limit the revs. Recommended max duty cycle for injectors is 85%

Not sure if those values are Rwhp or not, but my 848 with nothing but a full system mapped by Dave with the Nemesis was 132bhp.

if you check out some of the american websites, they have 848 EVO in as little as 118.

the challenge guys were only allowed a DP chip & slip ons as that was allegedly then at the 134 limit without extra work

I'll chuck mine on at some point, when probably after I've had the chip changed to DP spec to allow for the akros
