Tyre Pressures
 

Hi Guys, just getting my head round the idea of running without warmers, and how quickly the dunlops will warm up. But, what pressure do you start off with cold, f31 r 28??

28 front and rear.

There's no time for warming them up. Flat out as soon as the red lights go out.

If you're hard on your tyres, you might want a little less pressure but you won't be a million miles off with those numbers.

The tyres do warm up quickly, quite a few riders would do the warm up lap at pretty much full speed (see above ;)), first corner, no problem.

Cold tyres will warm up on your warm up lap. Make sure you thrash the bike on the warm up lap.

Dentist ran 19/20 ( I thinkl) at Oulton....

yep - full tilt on the first race lap a must!! Races and places are lost in the first lap....

I generally ran 28/29 Front and 27/28 rear. But it is the warm pressures you are interested in, and that depends how you ride. I would aim for about 32/33 warm, and adjust the cold to suit. Controversially, I run with 1 or 2 more in the wet because I know I won't be generating the temperature to get the pressure up. Make of that what you will, because although I was 4seconds a lap faster than anyone else at a wet Oulton, I also fell off on my 5th lap!

(Did I mention I had poles, wins and fastest laps at more circuits than anyone else in Class B last year?!)

I like to keep it simple.

But I don't have as many wins, poles or lap records as Ron...

Thats more scientific than me! If they got air in then they are good to go! Ig I got the gauge out it was to make sure it were between 25 and 30.
