Race wheel fitment

Hi has any one fitted a set of ducati race wheels to there standard road bike and if so were they a big pain or not to bad to fit.

What modifications do you need to do?

Thanks Matt:puzzled:

What do mean by race wheels?

The rear wheel has a larger axle bore, which means you'll need a new rear hub assembly, with brake disc and caliper. Not cheap.

On the front, the spindle is different size, the hub width is different and the disc offset is different. I don't know which part will work with which combination, though.

Hi felix, they were race spec marchesini, just thought if it was easy it was a cheap option.:eureka:

Dont think i will bother now thanks for the advice.

The race spec ones are likely to have the different disk fitment too, which means different disks, calipers, and probably forks and yokes too!!!

There is no speedo drive recess, so there needs to be a spacer machined to fit the gap - if you were to try them in standard forks - and that's forgetting about the issues mentioned above.

If this is an ebay deal, then you'd have no come-back on the guy as he did list them as race-spec - beware!!
