Toe Guard Just finished fitting a lovely new alloy swinging arm but now I've got the job of fitting the toe guard. Drill and tap happy with that. But, how do you get your guard to be in the correct postion for all the gearing changed required throughout the season. For example, Snett is hugely different to say, cadwell. Answers on a postcard please, apart from don't change the gearing!! |
I don't wish to appear rude but wtf is a toe guard and what has gearing and swingarm to do with it. |

[quote=Ghost]I don't wish to appear rude but wtf is a toe guard and what has gearing and swingarm to do with it Phil simon means shark fin ,chain guard ,chain protector it has several names the thing that stops your foot going in the rear sprocket or chain :D |
Simon your probly only use three or mabey four sprockets put your biggest one on so the wheel is all the way forward , put the guard on level to just in front of it and that should be ok , when you change the gearing it will move back , it shouldent go back far enought for you to get your foot in :D |
Those things are a bit like a swan breaking ones arm. no one has had a sharkfin save them or has had a swan break their arm. I've been drinkin so forgive me. :D |
Thanks Kev, just the info I needed. Phil, you did appear a tad rude but buy me a pint or tow me round Snett and it's quits! |
