Spocket alignment Just fitted a new afam 14t front sprocket on my 916 and after a hundred or so miles i've noticed a slight sign of rubbing on the outside of the rear sprocket teeth (standard rear sprocket) which makes me think something is not lined up correctly. I have never had any problem with the standard 15t front sprocket and the swinging arm bearings are ok. Has anyone else come across this problem? Checked the front sprocket and mounting bolts etc still fully tightened up and securing plate in place. Surely you should not have to fit any form of spacers etc as I thought Afam were oem fitment and that a 15t to 14t would be a straight sprocket change. Any thoughts appeciated:puzzled: |
Have you got the front sprocket on the "right way round"? |
Yep - thats one thing I double checked on. Fitted with the side with the built up bit towards the engine. Well I think thats the right way round. Its the same as the 15t was fitted anyway |
Now found out that the sprocket alignment problem was caused by wonderfull Ducati Coventry supplying me a sprocket for a 520 chain instead of a 525. Anyone want a second hand 14t sprocket for a 748? only done 300 miles? Offers by U2U - will be on ebay next week! Problem now solved:burn: |
