Rear brake pads : What & who from???
 

Hi all,

I'm replacing my rear brake line this weekend, and thought I'd do the pads at the same time (they're currently horrible sintered items that grab after about 2 secs).

Any bright suggestions as to what to put in and where to get 'em from?

I'm really happy with the Bendix semi-race pads I got from Mike Davis at Robsom Racing.

Carbone Lorrane SBK pads also seem to be another good choice.

Top geezer that Mike Davis.

Bendix one's ordered for £12 incl next day delivery, including 10% off for DSC (which he offered with prompting). :)

If only all things Ducati were so cheap.....

Glad you got sorted - Mike and Nelly at Cornerspeed are the top kiddies for consumable items in my book.

Keep an eye out on ya brake fluid level when fitting the new pads my friend, its nasty stuff !!!

Ali, you wanna consider fitting a wavy disc to the rear. Fitted one to the 996 and now have a brake that works - rather too good sometimes!

Ali, if you hang around a bit you can have the one off Redruth's new bike, I'm sure she ain't gonna use it............

If she goes all PMT on you, I seem to recall I paid about 60 quid for mine and that came with pads as well. Can't for the life of me remember company, but they were Braking and Talon dealers. A search on the net should locate them.

The wavy made a big difference to the bike as I run the front fairly soft, and could use a bit of back brake to avoid unsettling the front. Never did subscribe to the modern fashion of only ever using front brakes.

Agreed. 900SSs can be buggers to turn in if you're carrying a bit of speed. A gentle drag on the back brake feels like a much more stable way of knocking 5mph off on the turn-in.

Besides, my front diablo turned into a blistering, greasy, liability at Snetterton, causing a lurid 10m front-end slide into Russell :o(sheer incompetance on my part), so I'm learning to take it easy on the front......

And Ruth would never part company with any of her new love. Just as well I know where she lives then. ;)

I vaguely remember somewhere advertising a free rear wavey disc if you bought both fronts but sorry, cant remember for the life of me where :(

Everyone seems to have jumped on the 'wavey' making bandwagon, I've heard of the original - Braking, galfer and also EBC and Hyperlite and thats without even taking a real interest.

So who makes the good / best one ???
