Pattern brake/clutch levers and those instrument pod brackets Coupla small queries: :) Those pattern brake /clutch levers you can get from patternparts.net (address from memory, may not be spot-on). Anyway, I know they've been mentioned before around these parts. Are they really 'identical to/indistinguishable from 'the pukka Ducati parts? Anyone any thoughts? And... those zinc-and-colour-passivated hinge brackets thingeys that locate the bottom of the instrument pod assembly. I've always thought they rather spoilt the look of the bikes, even when new, and becasue of year-round use, mine are getting very scruffy indeed now. Anyone know of a version available anywhere in stainless/aluminium/titanium/unobtainium/tart-anium? TIA [Edited on 23-8-2004 by moto748] |
Hi, Don't know what the score is re. the pattern levers, but I did see a possible alternative for the bracket being offered on ebay a while back - it appeared to be the stock one but chrome plated. Not ideal I know for all year round use, but a lot better than zinc and pass. Whether the bloke worked for a plating firm he didn't say, but it looked a decent job, missed out on the bidding though! Regards, Pete |
Thanks for that, Pete. I'll keep an eye open. I had thought about taking an old one to a machine shop and getting a price for having one fabricated in stainless or ally. I'm a bit surprised none of the titanium tarts around here haven't gone down this route already! |
might be this bloke: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Ducati-Part...enameZl2QQtZkm he seems to do a lot of chrome plating. |

I bought a pattern lever from patternparts. The span adjuster wheel is of a different colour metal, otherwise they match pretty well. I swapped the wheel between the two, now they look the same. |
Ta. That's the sort of thing I wanted to know. I've got an old lever with a bent blade, so I've got spare span adjusters, C-clips, etc. |
