temp gauge

The needle has started to dance about like a Thunderbird puppet. Is it 80c or 120c. Before operating on it, is it likely to be repairable.
If not anyone got one they want to sell.

Most of the clocks on ebay are complete sets. :(

Check It's not the temperature sender unit, I had a problem insofar the needle didn't move, just changed the sender unit

I also have problem with my gauge. It does not move.. When u say the sender unit, do u mean the one connected to the cooling water? I`ve tried to change it, but it didn`t help..

gauge!!!!!

It sounds like the gauge smilo006.

I had the same problem on my 748/853. Fitted 4 gauges all went tits up so i gave up in the end.

JHP did suggest the engine could have been out of ballance causing the gauges to bust.

Sold it and bought an R1.

There is a check you can do it tells you how to do it in the Haynes Manual. The sender unit I replaced is the bit ! that goes into the engine nothing to do with the gauge itself - sorry if i can't be more helpful but I'm not too technically minded
