There is a pub with rooms in Longtown (I think thats the spelling) which is just south of Gretna which is very biker friendly with a secure courtyard. Not much else in the town but some stunning roads in Cumbria to play on. I'm prety sure they have a link from the mcn website. |
will check it out,as long as it serves beer and food in the evening ,could be onto a winner!!Bought some Audi TT wheels for my Golf from a geezer near Edinburgh and the roads going thru Cumbria into Scotland were stunning as you say and didn't see one copper until i was near north lakes:burn: |
Here you go, good old eyp.co.uk :D Graham Arms Hotel Tel: 01228 791213 English St, Longtown, Carlisle, Cumbria CA6 5SE We've done a couple of long weekends up there now. They do food (full english was lovely) and the beer is pretty good. I can't remember much about the hotel as we were always raving about the roads, but it must be reasonable else the wife wouldn't have gone back a second time. We mainly played on the roads west of the A76 between Dumfries and Irvine. Get an ordanance survey map of that area and you'll find loads of places worth a stop for a cuppa. As I said, there's not much else in the place so not much to look at in the evenings, but if your happy to eat, drink, and chat in the hotel it should be fine. Cheers, John. |
cheers John, will give them a call Pete |
It might be too late, but if you can, get yer sel up to the North of Scotland, roads are even better. We went to Skye, all biker friendly up there. My pal left the keys in his 916 SPS, no alarm all night outside B&B on main road, still there in morning......! |
