Well, I just took it out for a ride ....

... and I am so happy I own such a fantastic machine!!

It's been over 2 months since I've been on a bike so I didn't go far, probably 20 miles in total. One stretch of 'private testing road' allowed me to get her up to 110 and see how the shoulder performed in a hard braking from speed situation. Well, I stopped, but the bumps hurt.

I could get my jacket on ok, but I couldn't get it off by myself, and after the 20 miles of riding my shoulder is a bit sore and all I could feel was it clicking a lot. :(

With two weeks to go before TA3 I may become a mobile chicane in the slow group! and maybe only every second session. It was definitely a sobering experience taking it out today and realising just how far I have to go before the shoulder has any real strength - I lost over 1kg of muscle mass there I need to remind myself.

On the positive, it feels SO good to be riding it again, I've got a cross between a grin and a grimace on my face at the moment!! Two weeks of intensive physio for strength coming up methinks - yeah I know, don't overdo it etc etc ...

Ciao for niao ..

If the guy you are talking about is Brian Simpson in Ipswich then my bruv-in-law recommends him highly - he was OK to race only two weeks after breaking his collarbone in two places at Brands a couple of months ago after two sessions on the same day at £60 a time (except his bike died in practice). But isn't he mainly about sorting broken bones rather than muscle/tissue injury?

Anyway, the website is http://www.physioclinic.net/

Well done TP. The first steps are the hardest!

Well done Tony, good to hear it's healing up.

Probably best we stick together in the slow group to reduce the chicanes from 2 to 1.

Martin.
