It's in the tank and is easily replaced, but very fiddly as you need to first take of the whole petrol cap ring, then undo the hose clamps, then get your hand inside and pull out the pump and filter.

Filters are about £15 from a dealer, or you can pick them up from ebay for about the same or sometimes less.
