If you goto this page:
http://www.brake.org.uk/index.php?p=396 Click on the link about the press release sent to "Motoring" media.
A line in it reads:
For media enquiries and interviews with Mary Williams OBE, or parents whose children have been killed by bikers, call Aimee or Andrew at Brake on 01484 559909 or 07976 069 159 A bit strange that there's no mention of "bikers" in the rest of the document.
I did skim through another one, the national press release. It read:
Mandy Balmer’s 14 year-old son Martin was killed on 1 April 2005. Martin was crossing the road near his home in London when he was killed by a motorbike. Martin leaves behind a twin brother Michael and eight other brothers and sisters. It doesn't give any other facts, like whether the motorbike was speeding, or the child stepped into the road without looking. And TEN kids! wtf!
I liked this one as well:
Jacqueline Wilson has personal experience of being knocked down when a child. When she was 14, she got off the bus at her stop and says she ‘was in a bit of a daydream, and was also waving to some friends who were still on the bus’. She wasn't concentrating on what she was doing and stepped out from behind the bus without looking and was knocked over by an oncoming car. Maybe they should outlaw stupid daydreamers who don't look where they're going?
This lot would be on my list of going up against the wall come the revolution...
