You should be fine with your current chain. I've run everything from 14 / 39 to 15 / 45 on my chain and it always adjusted fine. The wheel will be further forward than currently, but not enough to make a real difference, maybe 2 or 3 swingarm marks at most. You may want to be careful with 14 / 42 though - this is a 3x ratio, which means that the chain and sprockets will meet at the same place every 3 revolutions. This will cause increased wear - because it meets so often. You may see premature chain wear. I'd be tempted to go for 14 / 41 as this doesn't mesh the gears as often. There's only a 0.1 difference in the output ratio, but it will increase your chain wear so it lasts longer. HTH |
