It allows two items to be transmitted by either channel one or channely two. Before the sky box was fitted it was connected to the video. I had no problems changing channels, so it seem correct in what you say about the sky remote

How right you are with the signal problem, just having a metal lamp at the side of the receiver caused all kinds of interference. If the wife ever puts the microwave on while watching, it wipes the picture & sound out completely
