Ducati`s flagship superbike followed the 916form from 1993 until the interruption of the 999 in 2002. Now the classic look is back.
Ducati`s boss Claudio Dommenicali has had a poster of the original 916 on his office wall throughout the development of the 1098.
He is on the record as saying he wanted the 1098 to be a development of the 916 icon in the same way that porsche keeps reinventing the 911.
