Put your original XP CD into the cd drive then reset your PC.

XP discs are "bootable" so it should startup off that rather than your corrupt hard-drive and be able to restore the bits that are missing.

Don't forget that you'll need to run Windows Update again once you've done this (Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Windows Update)
