Don't forget that the side-stand cut-cout also plays a part in this too!

You should be able to check this by hitting the starter: stand down, no starter. stand up, starter fires.

You should also be able to hear the pump priming when you flick the stand up in neutral.

Could just be something simple like water in the connection...
