I remember a Castle Combe meeting about 9 years ago when the police turned up and a bike was taken away. With NGRRC you always had to fill in your Vin and engine numbers on the back of your scrutineering card, which I thought was a good idea. It did give me a few issues when I first got the Ex V&M Racing CBR600, as when ever Moodie or Simpson crashed it Honda provided a new frame that was void of any numbers. But as it could be seen that they hadn't been tampered with, altered or removed and the presents of a receipt kept me out of trouble and allowed me to race For my Class A bike I have the V5 but the engine came from another Class A bike who's rider retired and he broke his bike for spares, at least the engine number looks like it should do.
