ST4s Owners

Reference the front Ohlins.

In the Duc Owners Manual it says that the Spring Preload is set at std 16mm, but can be anywhere between 25 or 10mm.

Q: Which is the stiffer setting - the 25 or the 10mm? As I find that page in the manual a little confusing in the way it is written.

Feedback very much appreciated. :rolleye:

Preload doesn't affect suspension stiffness, it simply adjusts the amount the suspension sags when the rider sits on the bike. You need to adjust the preload so that around 25% of the total suspension movement is taken up when the rider sits on the bike. You can also use preload to alter the ride height of the bike.

See here for some more info..

25mm is min 10mm max

Chaps
I know that:
a) the prelaod relates to the sag
b) that the max is 25 and min 10

But that was not my question:
Q: Which is the the stiffer loading - the 25 or the 10 position?

more preload = less sag

so if you have the spring less 'preloaded' you will have a greater sag reading.

Thanks Wilf
