rev counter - electrical type After my little coming together at cadwell I need a new rev counter. Its an electric type not cable... anyone :) |
What sort was it Spence, was it one of the Ducati Performance ones specially for a carb'd monster |
1 set of broken clocks Ive got are DP and other are DC from a 748 I believe. been trying to make a good set but cant get them to work. |
748/916/996 clocks wont work of the pulses from the pickups on the carb'd bikes which is why Ducati did the DP special ones. I have managed to open a tacho up years ago and change over the circuit board. So it might be possible to build one tacho from the two |
Just found a monster one but how much! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-Mon...em19d3b c680b think a after market one it is then.. |
I used a veypor one which was always ok, cheap if you can find one used, sure there must be other like it |
They were never cheap, I got good money for my setup the other week http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2511021264... 4.m1559.l2649 On my Class B buke I used a Stack tacho, I bet a Spa Tacho would also work OK as do the Scitsu (Red back, must dig mine out and give it a charge). Not sure if an Elliot Tacho will and if so which one. But there are a host of Digital ones out there these days for just under £100 that will probably work. Time to find out what others are using |
Scitsu About half the price of a DP one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scitsu-Rev...em3a780 815d6 |

Why is that Kev - wrong voltage or different frequency or something? |

Well when I plugged 748 clocks in at cadwell they worked fine but when I looked at them at end of race they had given up. Plugged my original dp clocks in and it works, so wiring must be fine, just circuit given up. |
