748/916/99* petrol tank compatability
 

Does anyone know if the same petrol tank is used across the 748/916/99* range?
Im assuming that the 998 fuel pump may be different (just a guess) but will a tank from an earlier bike fit my 998?

....its the early 748/916 bikes that use the banjo type connections.

I'm not sure when the connectors changed, but as long as the tank is off a post '99 bike you'll be fine I reckon.

i disagree with weeksy. My first 748sp had the same connectors as what are fitted to my 996s :)

Check with a dealer first but I seem to remember that the part number for the tank was the same for all748/916/996/998 verions, the plate in the bottom of the tank is a seperate item

I'm sure that the tanks are the same across the range, its the pumps (obviosly removeable) that the connectors vary on.

I'm also pretty sure that both pump types will fit all tanks.
