Chip Removel Is this really a slot out slot in job? Is ther anything I should be aware of? Will the bike start afterwards? |
what on?? dont think you can on the 749 or 999 but I have been known to be wrong. easy on the 748 916 etc just be carefull not to bend the pins when pushing the chip in. |
When you change the cpu on 749/999 you have to remove all the battery box and components -all the wiring is very tight so its a bit of a fiddle -also when cpu is unplugged the throttle position sensor has to be reset and thats a dealer only job with diagnostic kit |

Quote from workshop manual " When changing the throttle body, and or the throttle position sensor,or the engine control unit,or the section of wiring connecting these parts,it is necessary to carry out a new TPS reset procedure" |
ah well , my old 999S , the wifes 749S and my current 749R must not have read the workshop manual then , all 3 have had the CPU off and swapped for a race CPU and swapped back again with no problems ;) |
Well fingers crossed then. |
