a great day tomorrow

I will be collecting my 996r from nellys tomorrow. its been tough without her here. Hopefully its sorted.
I do have a question what is likley to happen if i run my bike with the standard ECU in with my 50mm termis fitted instead of the performance one? nelly said the fuel mixture is ok but will i damage anything if i keep running it this way. Otherwise i might have to spend aprox £600 on a new ECU
which I dont really fancy doing.

Get a PCIII for way under £300 and have it set-up

So was it the ECU that's at fault? I reckon there may be a few lying around if you try hard enough to find one???? Try JHP, Sigma and the like.....

As for problems with the bike, she might run a bit lean (but Nelly's view is the one to rely on), but shouldn't do any long term damage, unless you're running her at full chat all day long - depends how long your living room is ;) - as you won't be riding her on the road will you?

You treat her good now - ya hear!!!! :)

one of these days Dibble you will be nice to me:(

Tim, thats what nelly thinks it is, he hasnt the equipment to check it out.
He changed the timing sensor and re shimmed it, changed the plugs then took it for a blast. No problems, until he went to start it again, then the symptoms started. I sent him the standard ECU and he has been out again and no problems. I will pick her up tomorrow and ride her around, always returning home before switching her off and re starting, as this is when the problem starts.
Is there any way to test the Performance ECU to see if it is faulty?
I am going to find it hard to take her out with confidence for quite a while, worrying that it will happen again.
Maybe the PC111 might be the way to go, ill have to wait and see what happens when I take her out for a blast.

And Tim, she IS my baby and I will love and honour her till ***** do us part.:)

How does a Power Commander connect into the circuit? It can't replace an ECU surely, as that has all the key code etc too?
