sil moto pipes - any good?

just wondered if anyone has experience of sil moto pipes and if so opinions of them, would i notice any benefit of 54mm pipes over standard 748 ones with termis?

Quality is spot on. They are OE manufacturers for some of the DP exhausts.
54mm would sound and go pretty well top end, but you'd knock some of the midrange out.

I have 54mm on my 996 - they rock!

cool, would the bike benefit from a power commander with said pipes fitted, its currently got a chip and pipercross sock filter

If its a 748, then anything over 45mm gives a mid-range hole that 'chipping' wont fix.
If you just want to rev it and get more top-end then any 50's and a chip will be fine.
This is not particular to ducs - its a volume-of-gas thing that affects any bike. 'Over-exhaust' an engine and you'll lose midrange.

I can't really say for a 748 mate.

Your best bet is to ring Neil Spalding @ Sigma Performance and have a chat to him.

Good luck :)

My understanding was that you can either use a chip or a power commander, using both just cocks things up.

I would look for 45mm pipes myself to keep a decent midrange.

The bike has 45mm termis at the mo, i just fancied a bit more noise but dont really want to rev the balls off it all the time, as for the chip/power commander i was planning on putting in a standard chip and using a power commander instead
