Help for DesmoDue Newbies As sure a few of you are aware it can be difficult to know where to go to find up grades and just general race kit for the desmodue race bikes. I am starting this thread to pool together information that we have with the intention of creating a stick post (or adding to my stick want to be a dd racer?) with aproval from MT if this is with in the advertising rules with list of companys and where to find help when building a race bike and finding spares. Example http://www.ricambiweiss.de/ For race fairings http://www.hcracetech.co.uk/ Also race fairings - Matt T sponser http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Race-Supplies-Direct For rear sets and clip ons (what size do you need?) Race exhaust system by MHP http://www.racinglines.co.uk/ For race suspension work That type of Idea |
it doesnt relate to parts etc but i wrote a "how i got started" for another forum. it descends off topic a bit but here it is if anyone needs it. http://www.essexbikers.co.uk/forum/s...ead.php?t=8272 |
I would also highly recommend Maxton Suspension not just for new units but for refurb'ing forks and rear shocks. New springs to suit rider/bike damping mods, full services and bushes etc.. First class @ http://www.maxton.netspinners.co.uk They are always very busy so email....don't depend on the phone calls being return quickly |

Dom, Rather than have many individual posts on one thread, can they all be put into one list??? A few to add to that list would be. http://www.jacexhausts.co.uk/index.html They did the exhaust system on Matt's bike. http://www.ultimate-finish.co.uk/ Did Matt's frame and a frame for Skid's. http://www.carrotcycles.co.uk/ Converted 748/916 throttle and cable to be used on a 583. And some out of date but still useful technical info: http://www.sigmaperformance.com/desmo-due.html |
Still awaiting the 2009 ACU Handbook, main thing that worries me is any change to noise regs and I'm also keeping an eye on the sizes they allow for the Race numbers. also just got to say I've had a couple of sets of K-Tech fork springs delivered very quickly by Brook Suspension in Bradford www.brooksuspension.co.uk just make sure you give them a delivery address where there is someone to sign for them, otherwise like me you will find the depot of the courier they use is 50 miles from where you work |

And more importantly. A very good better half to make the tea, listen to you moaning and other hard luck stories, to hug & kiss you when you do well, and Finaly to apply ointment and plasters to your cuts and grazes,. before they beat you for falling off ;) Chris:burn: |
For those still in need of a fire Extinguisher to comply with Rule 13.3 in the ACU handbook This place has come recommended to me by our Safety Officer at work Minimum is 2kg Dry Powder £13.95 plus VAT http://www.fireandsafetycentre.co.uk...=&h ideform=1 As each Kg is worth about 10 Seconds it maybe worth going for a 4kg Dry Powder one at £24.25 Plus VAT http://www.fireandsafetycentre.co.uk...Extinguishers/ Last time I heard it was a £50 fine for not having one, Last time they checked mine I think it was Mallory in 2007 that they came around asking to see them |
I was asked at cadwell park last year |

Hi, quick question; how does the ricambi German stuff compare quality wise to UK bodywork? It's noticibly cheaper e.g. a 1098 race fairing is around £100 cheaper than the equivalent fairing from Replicast Is there a £100 difference in quality? Cheers :) |
Ricambi Weiss stuff is good, and probably better than a lot of other make fibreglass that I've bought in the UK. Just watch when buying off ebay as they won't (or didn't!) combine the postage cost, even though it turns up all in one box! So I bought a left-hand side (€20 postage), a right-hand side (€20 postage), a front piece (€10 postage) and a seat unit (€15 postage) so ended up paying them €65 in postage costs! |

Cheers, even with the postage thier SS DR107 seat and 1098 fairing work out pretty cheap in comparison to the UK stuff. |
