Starting problem

Hi

Need some advice

Went to take the ST2 out this morning and just couldn't get her started!

The bike turns over fine so the battery seems fine. It just doesn't seem to fire up or even try to. I've never had this problem before and I'm not much of a spanner man but where should I start?

Hi Keefy - long time no see!

Yep - bike is in neutral.

Side stand - don't think the bike would turn over, would it?

Kill switch - wouldn't turn over, would it?

Have you got the fast idle lever in the closed position and a closed throttle?

Mine floods unless you only open the throttle after it has caught and then use the fast idle to stop it stalling

Its interesting how bikes start! Mine starts without needing any fast idle or throttle. Just press the button and it starts and ticks over like a good un! The Monster does the same now we've got to the bottom of why it was running like a bag of spanners when we bought it!
