Timing belt?

Sorry if I'm boring you guys with my continuing single cylinder saga but being a newbie to Dukes I need more advice.

Discovered the 748 is just out of warranty (of course) but thinking I'll tip it into a transit and take it to the dealers anyway being as I'm a bit of a novice with the spanner but would welcome your thoughts first -

1. Belts were changed 2k ago - should I kick up a fuss if it is these that have gone or is it to be expected (thought they were good for 12k not 2k/4 months) ?

2. When it does turn over can't hear any worrying noises - could it be anything else? Getting fuel and a spark but h cylinder not happy

3. Any recommendations for lifting it into the back of a transit??

4. Can anyone recommend a good spanner man in London or have they all vanished? Cant be arsed with a 100mile round trip ever time!

Any help welcome.

Ta - D

Thanks for the offer but wouldn't put you to the trouble. Err and I wasn't messing with it honest.......I do listen but I'm also keen to understand so I can rule out something stupid and have a go myself next time!! Part of the enjoyment ain't it?

DJB, regarding lifting the bike into the Transit, much better if you can borrow a ramp (or, at least, a scaffolding plank). I have a lovely wide ramp you are welcome to borrow, but I'm out in Biggin Hill , so might not be practial to come and get it, depending on where you are in London.
