Tax Disc Location

Going to go and buy a tax disc holder today and get rid of the stick on thing provided by the dealer.

What is the consensus as to the best place to put a proper tax holder on a 749/999????????

Cheers in advance

Er....in your wallet? In the documents pack at home?

Personally i think the locating of these on the side of a bike, and in particular a Duke, looks naf.

On my 998 i mounted it under the seat, but you cant really do that on the 999.

These days, its easy to see, whos taxed and whos not, i guess if you get stopped the only thing your doing is fail to display, and could get a £60 fine if wew were being pedantic!

I've got biposto converted to a single seat so I hang my tax disc holder off where the pillion foot pegs used to be.

tricky.

Nice idea but I have a mono. Everywhere I look at putting it doesn't look right (bit like what Andyb said) but I don't think its worth the grief of not displaying it, lots of cars being clamped now for failure to display a disk.

What about..take the panels off and the nose cone. There are several bolts on the nearside of the headlamp unit. I bet one of those will do............

I don't display mine because there is nowhere good to position it on the 999. Anyway after having two stolen - one hacksawed off on my 996 leaving scratches on the frame - I carry the disk in a small wallet with my plastic drivers licence, insurance slip, RAC card and DSC membership card.

Hopefully no-one would be that pedantic if I got stopped - so there goes that idea then. 10-1 I get pulled this weekend.
