Exhaust Help

I've dyno checked my bike with a twin can setup and a single MHP system. I expected the custom system to be more punchy low down, but it's not, It's got a good flat top BHP of just under 52, but is down on torque mid revs by about 5. Measuring the two systems the total out let area of the twin setup is around 3000mm2 and the single is 2000mm2. My first thoughts were to get a new single pipe and silencer to match these up, but it's been made like that for a reason!!

Could anyone offer my some advice or reasoning for generating this extra backpressure.

On the end can, a shorter can gives you more top end at the expense of mid range, a longer can gives you more mid range at the expense of top end.

Another way to alter the length on the cheap would be to put a extention into the system just behind the can, this will give you more mid range.
