853 maybe for sale

im having to think about selling my pride and joy as im in need of some cash, my new to me van blew up on the way to a silverstone trackday and have been told its beyond econimical repair, today ive been told that the wifes fiat punto has a cracked head. selling the bike is not really a route i want to go down but if i cant re negotaite on my loan i may have too

how much would i be looking at for a 1997 748 with a 853 ducati corse kit fitted, the bike is now putting out 107bhp. i know that with it being a 853 its not going to add much value to it but a rough price would be nice.

the bike has done 23k and is fitted with a bucci slipper clutch, pc3, stm oil breather, ohlins rear shock, ohlins fork internals on the front, wavy disks, renthal sprocket and carrier, single seat, 50mm termi's ,std cans, dual seat unit and a few other carbon bits and bobs. also have spare set of wets on wheels with disks.

any advice appreciated, fingers crossed it doesnt come to selling my baby !!!

Eh-up .........dst1.... I use the R1 as not to spoil my loverly Duke...

Crickey Deej.... gutted for you mate.....

Personally I'd ditch the pair and buy a couple of cheap hacks, a garage near where I had my car sprayed sells them, escorts and astras for around £2-300 with mot. Then get a trailer.

Deej,

Not what you want to hear, but I'd reckon on about £3500.00 for the bike. Probably less if you need a quick sale. Unless you find someone who wants a preconverted 853.

There's a few later bikes on autotrader with a lot less miles for under £4K, some of which are trade sales. As you know the extras mean very little on re-sale. Better to revert to standard before selling and sell the bling on spearately.

that was what i thought as i know that the extras dont add much to the value, was just testing the water to see what interest it would get as it is, dont want to sell the bike let alone the extras but would sell as standard as possible if i needed the funds

andy, i need something reliable ( ) as i do 250+ miles to work each week, the trailer is a pain as i have nowhere to store it and its aslo the hassle of unloading at 12.30 in the morning if i had to work the next day, it also wouldnt keep the neighbours onside would it,have you ever unloaded a trailer without making a noise ???

got to replace the van engine as it owes me too much money, will get it fixed and then try to use it to make some extra cash at the weekends, man and van for hire and all that crap. got to make the most of a bad situation
