What is the 999 R like, as a Road Bike?

Just wondered if anyone has a 999 R, and is using it on the road.
A few of the bike mags, say it makes a great road bike, but wondered if they were biased.

Any Comments?

Regards

Mood: Has change happened...must of missed it!
In short mate, its as good as it gets, however, like all superbikes, use it and on your head be it!

It has absolute awesome power delivery, in std form! This is based on previously owing 748r and 998s.

On the road, again in comparison i would say its more comfortable than the above.

i don't want to sound biased but if you are in a position to own one, do it.
its exactly as they say in the rags, simply amazing!
much better than the 996r and 998r i had previously, although its a little quieter, read: smoother! which can make it feel a little sterile in direct comparison.
But in that context its because it is so super stable, you have to be riding like a maniac to get it out of shape and that feels great!
the way this turns, stops and handles on the absolute ragged edge is awesome. big improvement over the previous model IMHO.
I thrash mine a lot and its superb! I take such serious liberties with it and it just throws it back at you
its comfortable too (been to south of France-route napoleon/Alps etc) no probs.
Tank range could be better tho, i only get 70-80 miles!
waiting to get it on track at Cadwell next monday.......
