Jumping ship?

I've been thinking about a having a refresh on the bike front and I think I've kind of narrowed it down to a couple of second-hand options..

1/ a 996BP

2/ Aprilia Tuono 1000

disparate or what!!!

The 996 would be really great - but it would look like something lodged in my crack.

The Aprilia is...well...an Aprilia....

I can't afford a 749/999's or an S4R as I want something a bit more pokey and a change so the ST4s is out and a 748 has the same appeal as far as rectal furniture is concerned as the 996.

So it looks like I may be switching to the dark side and going for the other side of Italy.

or is a numptystrada pokey enough?

Get a Futura - you'll upset everyone equally! Baggsies I get a go, though!

Dumptystrada - approx 81bhp, 130mph tops, similar torque to a 749 ... unless the looks and ride knock your socks off, I don't think it will do it for you; but you won't know 'til you try!

What about a 1000DS?

why not try something a bit older instead of newer paul.

851/888 Strada or SP's they are making a real big comeback now, more comfy than 748/9 916 etc, get the right spec bike and they really fly, and they also stand out from the normal 7xx and 9xx bikes.

missed a good day yesterday mate.
cheers

Loz:-

The 1000DS Got the same engine as the MS doesn't it?

The ST4 has around 105 - 107bhp depends what you read so it has a bit more power than the 1000DS...

Dunno - I like the idea of the looney Aprilia though....

What do you mean by the 1000DS Loz?

The 1000cc Dual Spark engine is in the Multistrada, the Monster 1000 and the 1000SS ... also in the Paul Smart 1000 and the other Sport Classics (although the specs haven't been finalised apparently ...)

ST4S if you really need that extra poke.

Magimixer if you want a really capable fun bike, dunno if they're gonna put the 4-valve lump in the strada chassis yet tho

Robin:-

I missed you by 10 minutes on the Hog's back, her 'who-must-be-obeyed' had me over-running, anyway I went for a blast down the A31 and around the Petersfield area A272 - I think - some good twisty's there (only been to Popham once) - couldn't remember how to get there, and like a numb nuts didn't write it down beforehand - looks like you guys had a good time.

Passed an 888 as well yesterday - sounded nice - that may be an option - but aren't they rarer than rockin-horse-****e? (well a good one anyway).

Paul

I may be able to interpret .... Magimixer = Multistrada

3 valve engine is only in the ST3 - the 1000DS is still a 2 valver (sorry if I've read that wrong ..)

Who has been drooling all over the catalogs then - not me

Must have been the letter I got from Ducati yesterday congratulating me for my reservation of the Paul Smart 1000 ...
