I have a 748E which I bought new in Oct 2001 and I have just taken the ECU off to check the part number (Trying to get another one for a set of termis) and to my supprise the unit is 'IAW 16M.A0 Ducati 916 Biposto' is this right because I was expecting it to state 'Ducati 748 Biposto'?
Most the 1.6M ECUs I have seen have 916 on them as the only difference is down to the chip, the 1.5M ECU on my 750SSie has marked on one side 900SSie and on the other side it has 750Ssie
Would the warranty void strip be removed for servicing because it has been removed on the unit on my bike, I have never touched it so whats bothering me is has the EUC been swapped whilst its been in for servicing
Yeah, the void strip comes off to adjust the mixture. There are 2 ECU's though. Ones has the A suffix and the other B. The B is for the 996 with twin injectors. You can run a B on the single injected bikes but the A won't run a 996.
You've no worries with yours. Like Skids says, it's just a generic part number/description.
