Donny today (Sunday). Well done Garry Smith

Looks as the weather was a bit nicer today at Donington Park for the North Glos races.
I had a text earlier from Garry Smith who was racing his Ducati 996 in the SoT races.
In race one he finished 4th and in race 2 he finished 2nd with a best lap in the 1min 16sec bracket.

well done Garry it was never going to be easy even with Deano out, I know Andy Peck was up for it and with Mark Buldock around there is usually only one winner, but did he take part as his team boss said he was only entered in the open so they could leave earlier.

I think he did Jon.

I was talking to Garry on Saturday evening and I'm 99% sure he was out on the duke, splashing around.

...and well done for Sunday's result Garry

yes Jon I mentioned it somewhere yesterday evening in a post, he pulled out of the 1st SoT race after it was stopped because of Deanos crash as it was wet and he was on slicks. He went out in the 2nd race on full wets as he wanted to use it as practice and get a feel for the track just in case they were going to have the same conditions the following day when his points tally really mattered.
I watched him in the 2nd race on Sat and you could see he wasn't pushing to hard, he was braking really early and not taking any chances.

Hi Kev,

Yes Mark Baldock was riding (and won) in both S.O.T races, as was Nigel Reed, Andy Peck and Mark Compton, along with all the other championship regulars and a few New Era Superclub riders, I was well pleased with my ride in contrast with my very average performance in the wet the previous day, although as this was my first ever wet race it just highlighted the need for more experience in the conditions, what a difference dry tarmac makes!

Anyway, that puts me back in third in the championship and I'm looking forward to Pembrey in a few weeks time - how about putting in a guest appearance on one of your many bikes?

The weekend was also the first time I'd raced at Donny and the first time I'd seen a Desmo Due race - very entertaining and sounded fantastic!

Catch you soon.
