I have never noticed the 'flattened' downpipe before, is this something new for 05 ?
You need a hugger or that nice new exhaust is going to be peppered with stones after a few miles.
After looking at them pipes I feel the need to look out for a full system instead of my assymetric one, but cannot really afford it at the minute.
What does anyone think the cost of a full system would be without the ecu and filters in stainless steel ( Dont want titanium as it is too expensive and seems to have a breakage problem )?
Thanks for the info and pictures mate. I had a system on order at JHP but it took so long, I cancelled. Not JHP's fault just the usual Italian thing (i.e. I took delivery of my bike in April and just had my D.O.C. card). I think the full system has just now become available in the UK.
I may be wrong but I don't think you would be able to get the Termi system without the ECU...Yea, I think Santa is going to bring me a hugger and open clutch cover this year. I'm also thinkng about doing the ThermoTech wrap on the pipes. I kinda like the look and it's pretty effective with the heat. Still debating though. $188 to get them ceramic coated at one of the companies here in the states. May wrap for now and send them off for that this winter or something. What do you guys think about that? Anyone like the wrap look? They have the regular color and solid black.

You can get all the parts separately from Ducati. You can probably use your existing end can(?) so you'll just need the header pipes...
My assymetric end can has the two pipes already fixed to the back of the can itself where the link pipes join, while the full system end can seems to have a 'Y' piece that fits into the back of the can before joing into a single downpipe ?
It would be great if you could fit the full system pipework to my end can as it will not work out that expensive, I wonder if the back of my can could be modified to accept the full system 'Y' piece ?
You'll need a new can as the inlet pipes on your assymetric system will be unequal bores, so you'll need:
54mm system exhaust can in steel (96112803B) 54mm horizontal header (96112903B for a 999S, or 96113603B for a 749/749S/999) 54mm vertical header (96113003B for a 999S, or 96113703B for a 749/749S/999) 54mm central manifold (96113103B for a 999S, or 96113803B for a 749/749S/999) Carbon leg shield (96961603BA for a 999S, or 96961603B for a 749/749S/999)
All the part numbers are for a bike with a cast swingarm (i.e. non-R models up to model year 2004). You may also need some gaskets/bolts etc. Ducati don't seem to sell a full Termi kit with a steel silencer anymore for the cast swingarm bikes except for the 999S, so you can't even get a complete system as you would want it.
I'd be interested to know the price of the above parts...
With my bike being the 749R I would need the later kit like galaxys, but I cannot justify the £2800 that the proper 749R kit costs, but now that all the bikes have the new type swinging arm any of the pipework for a deep sump engine would probably fit along with a system end can? Then I could just leave my existing ecu and filters and sell my assymetric system without an ecu. Probably a right fanny on , so maybe best to leave alone !!
You'll need a 57mm system, not a 54mm. I doubt it's much cheaper to buy the pipes separately, and the full system has a Titanium end can. Unless you're seeking muchos horsepower I wouldn't bother!
