Graunching Clutch
Has anyone come up with a solution for the graunching clutch noise when setting off in first gear. I have been taking out the plates and putting them back in different order which cures the problem for a short while.

Ideas anyone?

In my experience that usually means that the clutch is on its last legs.

clutch
After a bit of searching on other threads found that by cleaning the glazing off the metal plates with a scotchbrite rotoary disc in a drill, problem solved.

The actual clutch friction plates are in good order, no wear on the friction material or tangs.
