exhaust systems

Whats the general opinion on the OE system for a 600ss.
Mine is the standard 2into 1.Looks okay but sticks out a bit around the swinging arm area.Diameter looks tiny compared to 900 though.Anyone no of a good replacement system,is it worth it how much etc whats everyone else doing.

Noticed the last air cooled factory TT1 bikes had 2 very short pipes into an open stub stack.Whats the chance of that being under 105db

only problem with the standard exhaust is it will drag around on the ground and tip you off the bike before it's worn away. Low in a very low way.

oops, can standard can drags on the ground not the headers

I'm keeping my standard Monster exhaust headers, I just reduced them (thanks to Mark Hill @ MHP => top bloke) by half to get a 2 into 1 exhaust.

So FOR SURE, I will have the smallest one

You'll need a 900ss 2-2 full spaghetti system if you want to play at the sharp end.....Oh that's what I've got...great!

The 900ss pipes do need playing with to fit, washers and shortening to fit...do they add hp not sure, 2-1 vs 2-2, hi level vs low level, not sure either never tested on a dyno!

Any dyno tuned answeres out their CK? AK?....

Eric's right though it does scrape like a knee slider! A good reminder to pick the bike up and get your body off it more!

Mine has just run with its new underseat system made from a 45mm 916 std set. Not sure on performance gains as yet, Tho i doubt any are to be had as the valves limit the flow not the exhaust size.
It isnt too loud either considering we have made a 20cm Carbon underseat pipe for it.http://www.barcroftmotorcycles.co.uk/DD/8.jpg

2 into 1 high level will give you the best compression & ground clearance.

A good set of pipes can increase your hp by 1 or so.

The narrow SS pipes are better than the monster wider ones.

And with 50.5 on tap..that extra 1hp is deffo required..???........certainly not cheap though to get that extra 1hp via the exhaust system....

u pays yer money as they say...

Gynn clever idea to use the frame rails to act as the exhaust but not sure about the diameter bore
