Cricket - Aus V Eng on now

For those who don't know the ICC Champions Trophy is currently running in India and today England are playing Australia.

Australia won the toss and sent England into bat and combination of Australia not bowling and fielding well enough and some exxellent England batting see Englan through to

78-0 off 17 overs. With Bell batting particularly well and Damien Martyn dropping a sitter!

It's early days yet but England are well placed, especially not having lost a wicket.

Good luck to the poms and may the best team win

COME ON AUSSIE!!!

A couple of quick wickets sees Australia trying to claw their way back into this game and a maiden from Lee just then. England still very well placed.

Bell got out trying to play an uppish drive over cover and was easily caught by 'Mr Cricket' Hussey.

Didn't see how Pietersen got out though, I'd stepped to grab some milk and bread and a nice coffee ... mmm, coffee.

Eng 100-2 off 23.2 overs.

Flintoff has a rush of blood early in his dig and skies one to deep midwicket where 'Mr Cricket' once again makes it look all too easy.

Flintoff gone for 4, bowler Watson.

110-3 off 25.5

Pietersen was caught behind by Gilchrist off Johnson for 1 by the way. I've just seen the scorecard.

Dunno who this Yardly character is batting now, never heard of him! When's Vaughan back?

Symonds strikes in his first over!

Strauss gone, caught behind off a gem of a delivery. Stauss played a good knock for his half century but perhaps he needed to hang around and anchor the innings?

The momentum is swinging back towards Aus ... still a long day to come yet though.

Yardy gone! Caught behind off Watson's bowling but to be fair it looked iffy, not sure it actually caught his glove ...

Still, he's gone for 4 and England are 128-5 off 32.4

Oh Ponting takes an awesome catch diving forward fielding at mid-on to dismiss Dalrymple off Johnson's bowling. He's always been a very special fielder!

Dalrymple with a bit of poor technique there, the bat too far out in front of him. He's gone for 3 and England are 135 - 6 off 36 overs.

Australia starting to take a hold of this game after the very good start given to England by Bell and Strauss.

And McGrath gets his first wicket.

Chris Read gone for a duck, caught behind off a typical McGrath delivery pitched just outside off stump and slightly leaving the right hander. The nick carries through to Gilly and Read trudges off towards the dressing room.

The pitch is keeping a bit low and there is a bit of movement out there, nothing too drastic yet and should even out and maybe take a bit more turn in the second innings.

England are having a middle order collapse and need to solidify the innings in order to post a competitive total. Australia have their tails up and are looking very positive in the field now.

137-7 off 37.3

Oh dear.

The rot continues, Mahmood caught and bowled by Bracken - good catch too.

151-8 off 40.5 and we're well and truly into the tail.
