can anybody give me their opinions of on yer bike/ducati aylesbury as im thinking of buying a 748 from them. ive spoke to them on the phone and they seemed ok but i'd like to know what you guys think or who you guys would recommend to buy from and why

i think i will take it to motorapido 4 servicing as they were very helpful on the phone today and their prices seemed okay.gave a lot of good advice too and it was free just a shame they dont have a R for sale

what advice would you give about a 2002 748s thats got just over 850 miles on the clock, would i need to change the belts or anything like that or will it be okay intil 6000 miles

sorry for all the questions but i wnat to make sure i get the right bike when i get one

Don't know about Aylesbury Ducati, but I can highly recommend Moto Rapido. The guys are really helpful, and have just moved to a newer building with new workshop & dyno room. One of their bikes came second at the Brighton Speed trials last week.

Oh, get the belts changed, and the tyres too if it's only done that distance in 2 years.

Agree with Mr S - Moto Rapido, see Wilf or the owner Steve - they've got some great stock and they really know and care about Ducatis

Apparently, OYB/Ducati Aylesbury are refusing to take 748's in p/x right now, because they've got a shed load to shift and they're keen to get them out of the door to make way for the new 2005 range to come in.

Depending on how desperate they are, could be something to give you negotiation ammo.

(unless its too late). My mate has just announced to us that he is selling his MINT red 748s..and hes quite keen to shift it.


So... if you want to save yourself quite a few bob then give me a shout.

OYB..very poor experiences there im afraid (not returning phone calls etc). Also heard some bad things from people who have bought new bikes from there sales side.

In terms of servicing..I would highly recommend Louigimoto to you in bristol...specialist ducati setup, and races a 748 too. also a little nearer ? U2U me if you want more info...

Oh..and the bike will need a belt change especially (as it sounds) if the bike has been sitting around...so if you do go for this one make sure they fully service it and dont fob you off with a 'checkover' job. (my mates 748s has just been serviced too..!!!!)

have already been with contact with motorapido, very helpful and genuine guys its a shame the 1 i wants not for sale with them as i'd be up there tomorrow getting it

think i'll try to haggle over the price as i doubt the dealer will replace belts for me and as i will probably need to part ex,then i'll get it serviced at rapido, they've advised it may take upto a week to complete a service, they didnt think the tyres would need replacing though but i'll check them when i look at it.

oyb have said they will take the r6 in part ex as they can sell from the non ducati showroom but im not sure how much they'll give me for it.

Hello mate,

I bought a R1 from on yer bike a while back. The bike was sound but after riding it around for a bit. I noticed that something at the front end of the bike was not quite right. But I could not put My finger on it.

After a strip down in my spare bedroom ( I have no longer got my workshop since I moved up from cornwall.) I noticed that both forks were bent. I also clocked that the bike had signs of being chucked down the road. I gave them a ring and to be fair to them they took the bike right back and fixed it with two new forks.

The sale guy stated that the Bike had come in to the show room and then been sold so quick that they had not had time to check it properly!!!!

The bike as a whole was in very good nick and with the bits that were bent replaced, handled like it should have. But after that It left a stale taste in my mouth and I did the decent thing and got rid of the R1 and purchased what I always should have got in the first place. My 748!!!

But not from On yer bike. I have been up there lately and see that they have opened a whole new section just for Ducatis. I also notice that their range of second hand Ducatis have gone up in number.
I am not ****ging them, just letting you know what happended to me.

By the way, what part of Cornwall are you in??

I get my 998s serviced at the local ford garage but their diesal conversion makes it a bit lumpy at the bottom end!!!!!.............................o yes, and it smokes a bit!
