Backfire?
Can anyone tell me why I should have suddenly picked up a rather nasty backfire and what needs to be done to rectufy it?

I'm not a mechanic but a couple of suggestions.

Check the bolts in each header pipe that are removed for checking the CO etc. they sometimes fall out.
Check the exhaust system for any other leaks.

Yep and check the seals where the headers join up with the downpipes.Mine were blowing like a very blowy thing.Had two seals replaced at the last service.

i get a backfire after hard riding
ive noticed the exhaust fit seems a little loose on my st2
could this be causing my flat spot at 7.5K?
