Question Hotels in Groningen

I know it’s only September but I thought I’d start planning next years trip to Dutch TT. Can any of you well travelled folk recommend any decent hotels in Groningen. Not looking for the Ritz, just a half clean room but more importantly some off street parking for the bike. Left it late last year & ended up in Veendam, nice place if just a touch on the ‘dead’ side.

Hi Eavesy,

I dont know personally as I lived in a different part of Holland for a couple of years, but I still work for a Dutch Bank here in the UK so I will have a word with some of the guys in head office over the next couple of days if you like?

I will find someone that lives in the area and he will be a local so the recommendation should be reasonable - the Dutch are tight!

I will U2U you when i have an answer.

Holland is THE bike stealing centre of West Europe. Beware! Still smarting from the loss of my 996 in Delft last year. Also, watch out for people blatently removing Ducati bodywork at Assen and pushing bikes over for that domino effect.

Good things in Groningen are the bars, restaurants and there is a fantastic bar in one corner of the square that also serves an excellent night club until the wee hours.... enjoy!
