New Riding leathers

I AM thinking of buying a NEW set of riding leathers and I saw on here about the FACTORY trips. Is it much cheaper going to ITALY and buying them there ? I have heard that ALPINESTARS can be much cheaper there, is it the same with the Ducati leathers?
I was looking at the new range in the Ducati catalogue and the new ones look great.
Thanks

Yep....I saved myself over £500 buying boots, gloves & 2 piece leathers at the Dainese Pro shop in Andorra (one of just two Dainese stockists). Other brands are plentiful. There were at least 8 other bike clothing/ accessory shops in the same road as the DP shop.

You can get every top brand there. The most you'll pay for anything is the same cost as here, but in euros, ie. £600 = 600 euros.
In reality, because there's loads of shops selling the same kit, they have special offers on certain items so you need to shop around for the bargains. Get prices here before you go for the stuff you want. A'stars, Spidi & Spyke were very cheap.

Things to be wary of:-
- There are also loads of jewellery shops, so be careful if you take the other half!!
- Border checks. I drove up to Andorra from Spain (was there to watch last motogp at Valencia). On the way back into Spain, they were checking every non-Andorra registered car. I nearly got stung, but we'd divided the stuff that I'd bought between us. Pay for things in smaller junks on the credit card (different one's if poss), so you get smaller receipts.
- I think you get a personal spending allowance of about 500 euros, so post your receipts home (if you spend more) & unpack/ wear anything you buy if poss.

Hope this helps.
