I've recently stopped using a rucksack for my commute and therefore I've been bungeeing my bag (a rectangular leather holdall - a bit like a small squashy suitcase) to the tailpiece. However, no matter what way I do it, it doesn't seem very safe because it looks like the bag might eventually work its way off the back end.

Any tips?

I imagine some people will suggest fitting a Ventura rack to brace it against. TBH, I'd rather not get a Ventura because I don't go to work on the Ducati all that often (I have a Hornet for such day to day donkey-work) and so it's not really worth the expense or the effect on the aesthetics.
