I think theres a thread on here somewhere that runs through all the specs of different year SPSs. Of the top of my head the 996 was about 112bhp and the 996SPS and 996S had 123bhp. Lots of discussion whether the 996s had Ti rods etc. General opinion seems to be the MY2000 996sps is the one to go for as it has Ohlins front and rear. Probably the sps will always be worth more than a S Do a search on here and you will find tons of info on them all.
Anything to be aware of when buying second hand, what to look out for?
Any questions that you suggest I ask the seller?
Thanks ladies and gents.
Richard.
Even at that mileage I would be asking the seller if the cams and rockers have been checked for wear. The SPS seems to be particularly bad in that respect

As they brought the ohlin fork version out 3 months after i bought mine, for the same price, i was not impressed. i would have been quite happy being a wannabe
