I have forged March' wheels on my 749r .... are these OK for riding 2 up

I noticed in the DP catalogue they have forged wheels for 1 person only, are these the same type fitted to 749r / 999r etc

It would be just once in a blue moon, or should I say sunny day that I fit the BP sub frame and seat.

I believe that the forged wheels as fitted to 749/999R's are not considered strong enough for 2 up loads , having said that a 11 stone rider with an 8 stone pillion would not be any more of a load than some bigger built riders , best bet is contact Ducati uk

Mmmm. Both of us could be desribed as "Curvy" .. 1 in a sexy way and 1 as a blob

Through my limited knowledge of engineering design I know that there will be massive safety factors built in to the loading of items such as wheels. This could be as much as 10:1. They work on similar safety factors for any lift / equipment that will be carrying persons. So if they were designed to take 20 stone in normal use I know they will be good to see 200 stone before you reach breaking point.

No doubt some one will point out dynamics of how heavy 2 people will be when riding a moving bike etc and also I know that safety factors are there as a safety margin and not to be considered as normal working conditions. All that said, once on a sunny day, main roads and taking it steady I feel will be OK. ish

If you see a wanted add for a set of new Forged wheels then you know I got it wrong

I would be more worried about how you will get her to stay on?

749r = monoposto!!!!!

It must be cheaper/safer to buy a BIP?

Surely this is sacralidge - like cutting extra doors in a coupe!!!!!!!

I have the full BP sub frame and seat in the garage ... used to swap my mono carbon 749s over to BP once or twice a year.

It is sacralidge in some respects, but, gives me a quiet life at home and I love the look of horror when the general bike public see's a tricked out bike (r - model) with a BP seat on it.

Love the shock value sometimes
