Desmo Due Briefing

The 2006 season is just over and was hopefully enjoyed by riders and supporters alike. 2006 is the second season of Desmo Due and we have learnt a lot in those two years that will be applied to the running of the 2007 championship. It is a unique series in that it is run by a club for its
members, offering them the chance to ride with others in a friendly atmosphere, supported by other club members.

Planning for 2007 has already begun, existing sponsors have been contacted, rules published and should be agreed shortly. Ducati
UK have confirmed their backing for Desmo Due for a third successive year.

The best piece of news is that New Era have confirmed that they will facilitate the series for us at their events during 2007! The draft calendar is due by the end of the month, so the rounds, tracks, etc can be identified to the riders shortly.

I've suggested that we hold a meeting for all the 2007 entrants shortly after the cut off date for registration (1st January) to discuss in open forum what they want to individually bring to the series to help broaden its scope. We already have an offer to transport the trophies to all of the
2007 rounds which is very useful, with the people we have in Desmo Due there are many other aspects we can consider to help spread the workload.

The series is growing, other members and people from outside of the Club are showing more interest as things progress and I'm sure this will continue into 2007, it is a major club deliverable for it's members.

We would obviously hope that if staying in racing next year you will sign up to the Ducati Sporting Club series. 2007 will be even better than the two previous years, we will be learning from the mistakes and successes of the two previous seasons to ensure that a good time is enjoyed by all.

For the benefit of those on this email circulation list who have joined the series for the first time in 2007 or who have expressed an interest in joining the contact email address for general Desmo Due related correspondence is: desmodue@ducatisportingclub.com

For information on rules and regulations, entry forms and other DSC related issues please email: secretary@ducatisportingclub.com

Look forward to seeing you all out there in 2007!
