Currently working as a AV tech repairing and servicing all the audio/visual equipment in lecture theatres and teaching rooms at the University anything from a CTV, data projector to a video conferencing unit.

Hoping to get a job in Video Production in the very near future, will involve filming in operating theatres (already help out with this now but would be more involved with the new job), making corporate videos etc. Will have to learn to edit using Avid and will also have to learn about live web streaming among other things, so a few new challenges

Really want the job as it's what really interests me but might have to make a few sacrifices as it will mean a pay cut for a year maybe 18 months while I'm learning.

I work for my own company as a freelance consultant specialising in embedded real time software, along with a couple of other employees.

Our clients seem to mainly fall into the mobile phones and satelite comms arena, although we do have some smaller contracts come in from time to time.

Its a job and someone has to do it
Besides, it keeps the wife in the manner to which she has become accustomed, and allows me a few toys too

Previously worked in semiconductors specialising as an etch engineer specialising in fabrication of metal interconnects at device level on things like DRAM, Pentium III's and Athlons. Still occasionally do some consultancy work but, I've generally left the industry. Highly experienced in hazardous gas management and vacuum systems. Would like to leave it all behind and disappear into the ether but a Ducati habit and a mortgage dictates that I still work.
Occasional racer with varying levels of success.
Other than bikes, I like playing around with spanners, cameras and computers (Linux).

Trying to do the same as you ohh by the way chatting/being interviewed for a job with a company based in shepperton said that I had done some work with avid and the MD turned round and said Final Cut was the way forward! DOH!

Ains. Casson. Posh title is Exploration Geophysicist.
That is, looking for oil. But not on rigs.
I look after the crew that go in to conduct the geophysical survey that gets the data that the interpreters look at and stick a pin in the sub surface section saying, drill here.
Usually at sea on a research boat but can be found anywhere from deep desert to city centre and all points in between including mangrove swamps which means I work pretty much anywhere in the world and have done, but have been stuck in Saudi working up and down the Gulf since 2002. Yup in the Gulf up north when GW2 kicked off; sat around on deck at night watching the Ham Shanks fly over setting off cruise missiles over our heads, then legged it down to the mess room to watch them land in Bagdad!!
Looking to find a job back in the UK after 15 years overseas and 26 in the industry. I'd like to go home each evening.

Bikes: Riding since 16, first bike I owned '72 H*nda CB250K4 and K3; RD 200; '78 CB400/4F2; '82 Katana 1000sz (still got that) and since April 1997 a '92 Ducati 888SP4S currently under repair.

Found my dream job playing with bikes albeit of the mountain bike variety, Marketing/PR/Communications/Sponsorship/Export Sales as well as some Product Management and a lot of the boring finance side as well, OK, its a small company so i get to make the toast and coffee as well before anyone asks I don't get to ride bikes everyday, well not quite
