The S probably won't have titanium rods but I wouldn't bet on it.
In this weeks comic (MCN) there was a 996r for less than a 998s advertised below it.
996r & 998r prices are still coming down on the secondhand market. The time of year can have an influence on asking/selling prices.
If you want race heritage its the 6r if its the best spec motor ever in the classic shape its the 8r. The 8r motor is the same as the 03/04 999r
